Oliver Tomlinson

Chief Executive Officer

Our charismatically engaging CEO, Oliver, joined Canopy in February of 2022. Prior to this, he was the CEO of the JN Life Insurance Company from its inception in 2013 and impressively led that company for over seven years. Oliver has worked in the financial industry for the past 25 years with leadership and managerial experience in remittances, foreign exchange trading and life insurance. Before starting in the private sector, he worked as an educator, specialising in Mathematics and Deaf Education.

Adding to his accomplishments, Oliver is a Director and Past President of the Insurance Association of Jamaica (IAJ), has served as a member of the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ) Executive Council and is currently an Adjunct Lecturer at the Joan Duncan School of Entrepreneurship, Ethics and Leadership (JDSEEL) at the University of Technology (UTECH).

With a Master of Business Administration from Florida International University, a B.Sc. in Government from the University of the West Indies and a Teaching Diploma in Special Education from Mico University College, his achievements are a testament to his hard work and dedication. As a Munro College Alumni, he believes in the power of positive thinking and is often guided by the Napoleon Hill quote “Your life will flow in the direction of your most dominant thought.”

Andre Karjohn

VP of Operations and Customer Experience

Our resident ‘vibes master’, Andre, joined Canopy on November 24th, 2020. Prior to his role at Canopy, Andre was employed at State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance (United States) for almost a decade, where he was responsible for Claims Management in four States; New York, Washington, Mississippi, and Missouri. He also served as CEO of the Petroleum Company of Jamaica, Ltd. (PETCOM) for three years.

Andre proudly holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a double major in Finance and Management Information Systems from Florida International University, as well as a Master of Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University. In recognition of his high scholastic achievement, he was selected for membership in Sigma Beta Delta. Additionally, he achieved the prestigious designation of Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) from the American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters, which is held by less than 4% of professionals within the insurance industry. Andre also attained the 2-20 Property and Casualty General Lines Agent License, the 2-15 Health and Life (including Annuities and Variable Contracts) Agent License, and the 6-20 All Lines Adjuster License from the Florida Department of Financial Services.

This operations powerhouse always knows how to make the best of every moment, whether it’s his remarkable fitness journey, enjoying quality food, champagne, and fine wine with close friends, or embarking on an exciting new adventure while travelling.

Alicia Foster

VP of Sales and Client Relations

‘Likkle but Tallawah’, our VP of Sales and Client Relations, Alicia, joined Canopy in July 2019. With over 30 years of professional experience, Alicia has a wealth of knowledge of Jamaica’s insurance industry. Prior to her role at Canopy, she served as VP of Sales and Marketing at Guardian Life for 8 years.

Alicia earned a Diploma in Business Administration and an MBA from Mona School of Business. She is also a Health Insurance Associate and a Managed Healthcare Professional with certifications from the Health Insurance Association of America.

Outside of work, Alicia finds pleasure in exploring new places and playing badminton.

Ranjita Sanumpudi

VP of MIS and IT

Our hardworking and dedicated VP of MIS and Software Development, Ranjita, joined Canopy on September 3, 2018. Prior to her role at Canopy, she worked as a Senior Database System Manager at National Health Fund for over 10 years, as System Analyst & Provider Access System Specialist at Blue Cross Blue Shield Jamaica for 2 years and as Manager of IT/Operations at Canopy for over 3 years before she was promoted to her current position in 2020.

With a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science and Technology and an MSc. in Customer Science, Ranjita has proven her skill in architecture, design and implementation by participating in several projects.

Based on her track record of success Ranjita’s expertise is only rivalled by her love for travelling and interior design.

Lora Rochester

AVP of Marketing and Business Development

Our clever and resourceful AVP of Marketing and Business Development, Lora, joined Canopy in March 2021 after working for 13 years in the general insurance industry where she specialised in reinsurance. While there, she achieved the designation of Chartered Insurer and Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute of London (ACII).

Lora holds an M.Sc. in Insurance and Risk Management from Bayes Business School (formerly Cass), City University in London and a B.Sc in Actuarial Science from the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus.  She is also a former Director of the College of Insurance and Professional Studies (CIPS).

Lora's dedication to excellence in her work is matched by her commitment to sport as a former captain of the Jamaica Women's National Water Polo Team. Outside of the pool, she also enjoys playing tennis and cycling recreationally.
